Teddy Greene is a debt collector with an explosive temper who has a habit of taking his frustrations out on his frightened clients if they don't have his money. To say he goes ballistic would be an understatement, as Teddy smashes guitars, breaks tennis racquets, destroys television sets, punches joggers, roughs up hookers, beats up bookies, bitch slaps cops, throws college kids into fences, bashes stand-up comics upside their heads, kicks priests in the stomach, puts housewives hands in garbage disposals, threatens to stab junkies in the face, and promises to throw people’s children into traffic. It's safe to say that Teddy isn't exactly out to make friends.

Teddy’s daily ritual involves driving his 1975 Cadillac all over Los Angeles (including Downtown, Hollywood, and Beverly Hills), seeking out all the people who owe him money and performing a ballet of violence on them if they so much as even open their mouth. Outside of work, Teddy's personal life is nothing to write home about, with an ex-wife who constantly demands alimony payments, a new girlfriend who never shuts up, and a no-good shyster father who only wants to take Teddy to Las Vegas and spend his son's money.

Teddy’s boss, Tony Stone, is a loan shark who doubles as a Century City tax attorney and never goes anywhere without his two trusted bodyguards. One of them, Vic, is an ex-gangbanger who likes to hurt people. The other is Leo, who used to be a Neo-Nazi. Stone once threatened to drown Teddy in a swimming pool if he ever crossed him, but Teddy vowed he would put a bullet in Stone’s head if he didn't watch his back. Will Teddy dare to cross his boss?
